There are students working during the conference as event reporters.
Melodie Mayberry-Stewart, PH. D. CTO of City of Cleveland
Cleveland native, accomplished, very impressive education, one of the first African American women leaders in IT.
MI: All conferences must start with someone having issues getting PowerPoint to run.
Cleveland Landscape
+ “Cleveland is rated #1 in Poverty “
“Not something we’re proud about.”
MI: I see now why CTC choose Cleveland as an event city. There seems to be such incredible need to provide tech training for people to help overcome poverty. Despite the hardship there are opportunities. VISTAs can do so much good here.
MI: I noticed yesterday that many of the streets were torn up due to construction. Ms. Mayberry-Stewart says they are laying fiber to build a network. Awesome!
The Mayor Jane L. Campbell Mayor of Cleveland has proclaimed June 16, 2005 Digital Literacy Day in Cleveland, OH in partnership with CTCnet.

Quotes from teens: (who spoke at event)
One teen led the audience in chanting Sankofa!
Sankofa means “We must go back and reclaim our past so we can move forward; so we understand why and how we came to be who we are today.”
