ConvergeSouth2005

October 7 & 8, 2005 Ruby and I are headed west on I-40 about an hour and a half to ConvergeSouth 2005. Our neighbors down the road in Greensboro, NC are holding an event dedicated to creativity and diversity on the Internet. Friday Ruby is on a panel called “Blogging and community building” with Dan Gilmore and David Hoggard.

GovergeSouth2005 is FREE. So everyone out there who wants to learn from the best about online community, blogs, podcasting, etc., should show up. :D
(I wonder if it’ll be held in a UnConference style?)

that sounds like an eggcellent conference bringing together a slew of different people in NC. and i see philly’s own duncan black will be a session leader.

    From the ConvergeSouth2005 FAQ:

    What is the format?

This is an “unconference” of the sort pioneered by Dave Winer at his seminal BloggerCons. A session leader with expertise in a given area gets things rolling, and serves as instigator, traffic cop, and referee…but there is no “audience,” just a room full of potential contributors. It’s bloglike, with the assumption that intelligence and information are distributed around the room.

We’ll hold ya’ll to that! And learn from ya as best we can. :D
