The News & Record, the local paper for Greensboro, NC, just hosted a public forum where local bloggers discuss the future of media with Dave Winer. Dave asked some direct questions of the newspaper folks and the bloggers. I was also very glad to hear Jerry L. McClough, the Blogmaster for 102 North Carolina NAACP blogs, bring up some serious gaps in local reporting. We need more perspectives to reach a wider audience! Here's the Greensboro NAACP blog. Also, Dave talked about the beginning of podcasting too.

In case your wondering... The original file for this podcast AA_N&R_DaveWiner.mp3 still exists here. http://www.audioactivism.org/audio/AA_N&R_DaveWiner.mp3
The MP3 and Ogg links above goto a file that is a copy with a different name and the exact same content as the original. I had to change the name (remove the Ampersand - &) of the file names so my RSS xml file would parse correctly and be compliant xml. Goal: Keep all podcatching clients happy.

In part two of this interview I posed two questions, to Ed, that were originally posted over at the Citizen Journalism Forum on the Digital Divide Network web site. Basically the questions were, "Why be a Citizen Journalist & what about Libel?" [During the interview I read the post verbatum] Thanks for asking them Henry!
